Scottish Water wanted to introduce blue green flooding interventions like ponds, water butts and trees to the communities of Prestwick and Bridge of Weir. However, they needed to fully assess the appetite for their potential solutions, and understand current attitudes and behaviours to identify potential barriers.
We set out across the two locations to do just this. We deployed a COM-B model for behavioural change in our approach in order to provide clear guidance on how the levers of Capability, Opportunity and Motivation can be pulled to influence public engagement with the proposed blue green flooding solutions.
